Wayan House is now our favorite private hot springs villa at the foothills of Mt. Makiling. The wrap-around hot springs pool lets you jump right in from the dining area. Designed with a game-room concept, the villa offers a fun and engaging stay. The fully equipped kitchen allows you to cook on-site or have meals delivered, complete with dining ware. Imagine soaking in the hot springs at night, enjoying the warm water and cool breeze as the sun sets. Tucked away from the karaoke-filled Pansol crowd, the house provides a serene and peaceful retreat.
LUXURY ROOMS & TOILET
The rooms feel like a hotel, with cozy beds and plenty of pillows for a good night’s sleep.
The second floor has three rooms: the master bedroom, a family room with two queen beds, and a dorm-style kids’ room. On the first level, there’s another family room with two queen beds. The fifth room doubles as a game room with a sofa bed and its own bathroom.
The bathrooms are well-equipped, offering soaps, shampoos, and fresh towels for both bathing and swimming. They feature good water pressure, a bidet, and hot and cold water for your comfort.
Even the closets are thoughtfully designed to keep your overnight essentials organized. Plus, the full-size mirror adds a nice touch for your convenience.
GAME ROOM
We love the dedicated game room, complete with a shuffleboard bowling setup, an entertainment system for movie nights, and soundproofing for karaoke sessions.
It also features a dancing pole, a punching bag, a beer pong table, and a chiller for drinks.
The kids love gathering for a midnight horror movie— the scarier, the better!
THE BOYS ROOM
This is the room where it happens — the kids’ hangout room, with three bunk beds, a sofa bed (for up to 9 guests), a billiard/air hockey table, and a projector for movies or games.
The in-room projector is a genius addition, letting you enjoy a movie before bed or play interactive games in the comfort of an air-conditioned room.
Yes, they have a mahjong set, perfect for both kids and adults to enjoy together.
DINING ROOM + KITCHEN
We love the large dining set, surrounded by stunning views of the pool, fields, and mountains. You can even sit and relax while wet, making it perfect for a seamless poolside experience. Plus, the Bose surround sound system lets you connect via Bluetooth and set the perfect mood with your own curated playlist.
We love places with a fully equipped kitchen, allowing you to focus on bringing food—whether for cooking or ready-to-eat meals.
We’ve learned to keep the food simple—pizza, barbecue, pasta, and desserts like cakes and pastries. No seafood, especially for those with allergies. Bringing a variety of drinks is always a good idea, and steamed peanuts are our go-to snack for conversations.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Wayan House has elevated our Pansol tradition with a luxurious private villa escape in Los Baños. The poolside dining experience offers a stunning view of Mt. Makiling. The boys can enjoy the game room and their dorm-style room, while the adults relax by the pool, sharing meals and stories. The caretaker is always ready to assist, ensuring a memorable stay.
A few things to note: ball games aren’t allowed in the pool, there’s no disability access for grandparents, and the oven is small, so it can’t accommodate a lechon.
This was the perfect place to get to know our son Raphael’s friends and meet their parents, with some experiencing their first memorable out-of-town overnight trip with friends. My son asked me not to post pictures without their consent, but if you could see it, you’d know—it was an absolute blast and a core childhood memory they’ll cherish for years to come.
