ABOUT MORTON’S IN MANILA

Morton’s The Steakhouse serves as the signature anchor restaurant of Uptown East Gate, located just across Uptown Mall in BGC. I love how its location offers a more serene side of BGC while still commanding attention as you pass by. The restaurant exudes a sense of exclusivity, and with ample parking options within the building, convenience is never a concern.

200-Seater Dining Area. As you enter the restaurant, the bar warmly welcomes you, setting the tone for the experience ahead. Turning right, you’re met with an exciting bird’s-eye view of the dining area—an inviting space with soaring ceilings, a classic steakhouse ambiance, and elegantly set tables draped in crisp white linens. The atmosphere is refined yet approachable, complemented by warm and friendly service.

Intimate Dining. There are two private dining rooms, accommodating up to six and twelve guests, respectively. The restaurant’s elegant setting makes it the perfect place to dress up and celebrate special occasions with friends and family in a refined yet welcoming atmosphere.

Menu. While steak is the star of the menu, Morton’s also offers an excellent selection of seafood dishes. Their extensive wine list, curated to complement every dish, is enhanced by a dedicated sommelier ready to guide you in selecting the perfect red wine.

SIGNATURE APPETIZERS

BACON STEAK 1,395

This is one of the most unique appetizers you’ll find at any steakhouse in Manila. Best enjoyed in bite-sized pieces, it’s the perfect way to awaken your appetite. We especially love the flavorful charred edges and the rich, umami-packed layers of fat that melt in your mouth.

JUMBO LUMP CRAB CAKE 1,480

This signature appetizer is packed with rich, meaty crab goodness. You can enjoy it as a starter portion or a full serving, beautifully presented on a bed of salad. Sarap nito!

BAKED FRENCH ONION SOUP 785

I love it when French Onion Soup is served just the way you like it—packed with caramelized onions, topped with gooey melted cheese, and served piping hot, comforting the soul with every spoonful.

CAESAR SALAD 690

It’s as classic as it gets, and enjoying your veggies is a great way to balance the indulgence of a steak.

THE ORIGINAL STATE STREET MANHATTAN 1,195
Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Carpano Antica Formula
Vermouth, USDA Prime NY Strip

The best Manhattan we tried was served with a well-done barbecued strip of meat. At first, I thought it was just a gimmick, but the NY strip perfectly complements the drink’s smoky flavor.

BLACK CHERRY SOUR 1,295
Maker’s 46, Averna Amaro, Lemon, Cherry

We love whisky sour drinks and this black cherry is easy and good to drink as an aperitif, not too sweet and has the right kick to keep the conversation alive.

LAVENDER FIELD 295
Peach, Lavender, Sparkling Lemonade
ORCHARD SEASON 295
Lemon tie, Pingpple lice, Cranberry Juice

Even their free-spirit drinks are refreshing—not too sweet, with vibrant, fruity flavors.

THE BEST STEAK ANYWHERE

This is the most coveted spot, featuring a stylish Morton’s backdrop with a charcoal wall accent. The high ceilings and unique light installations create an intimate, sophisticated ambiance for a memorable dining experience (and sexy time later).

DRY-AGED RIBEYE 14oz 8,925

Morton’s steaks rival those of Wolfgang, as they also use USDA Prime beef, dry-aged for maximum flavor. The main difference is that Morton’s serves their steak on a plate, which can cause it to cool down quickly. I love the beautifully grilled char on the steak—we ordered it medium, but since this is prime meat, it’s best enjoyed medium-rare.

CHATEAU STE MICHELEE, COLD CREEK VINEYARD, COLUMBIA VALLEY 2020 5,895

The sommelier presented us with two red wines to pair with the steak, and the Chateau Ste. Michelle Merlot from the U.S. was a delicious choice.

The 2020 Chateau Ste. Michelle Cold Creek Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Columbia Valley is a bold, full-bodied wine with rich layers of black cherry, blackberry compote, and cassis, complemented by hints of graphite, polished leather, and a touch of black tea. Aged for 18 months in a mix of French and American oak, it boasts structured tannins and bright acidity, leading to a long, seamless finish.

CAJUN RIBEYE 16oz 6,980

This dish is exclusive to Morton’s, featuring a distinctive Cajun-style sauce. It’s a great option for variety, and the ribeye remains a top choice—thickly sliced with a rich, flavorful cut of meat.

TRUFFLE CREAM CORN 325

The best side dish—creamy corn with a hint of truffle—adds a rich, savory touch and perfectly balances each bite of steak.

SMOKED GOUDA AU GRATIN POTATOES 695

Even the potatoes are expertly prepared with smoky Gouda cheese—delicious and a great pairing for the steak. But sometimes, you might prefer to enjoy it with flavorful garlic rice instead.

LOBSTER MACARONI AND CHEESE 1,895

One of the most indulgent mac and cheese dishes we’ve tried, loaded with lobster meat and rich, savory flavors. Sarap!

SAUTEED SPINACH AND MUSHROOMS 665

The spinach is sautéed, not creamy, and features hearty chunks of mushrooms, making it a perfect complement to the steaks.

ALTERNATIVE TO STEAKS

MISO MARINATED SEABASS 2,795

I love that they offer a delicious miso seabass option—perfect for seafood lovers and a great alternative to steak.

CHICKEN CHRISTOPHER 1,895

This dish brings to mind Chicken Milanese or a Taiwanese chicken chop, but with an American twist—perfectly crispy and served with delicious asparagus.

LOBSTER RAVIOLI 2,875

Creamy sauce with lobster, perfectly complementing the rich and tender ravioli pasta.

SWEET ENDINGS

KEY LIME PIE 398

We love this—it can rival Wolfgang’s key lime pie with its perfect balance of tartness and sweetness.

MORTON’S LEGENDARY HOT CHOCOLATE CAKE 495

A classic molten chocolate cake, served with raspberry and vanilla ice cream.

ESPRESSO POT DE CREAME 595

For those days when you crave espresso in a creamy dessert form, this treat offers the perfect balance of richness, a bit of crunch, and fluffy whipped cream—best enjoyed with a hot cappuccino.

CREME BRULEE 398

A beautifully torched caramelized sugar topping with a rich, creamy, and velvety texture.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Overall, we loved our experience at Morton’s The Steakhouse. The steak rivals the best in Manila, but what truly sets it apart is the sophisticated ambiance—elegant, intimate, and perfect for dressing up for special celebrations. The high ceilings provide a sense of privacy while keeping noise levels low, creating a relaxed and enjoyable dining atmosphere. Exceptional service and a warm, friendly welcome make the experience even more memorable.

Highly recommend the Bacon Steak, Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, French Onion Soup, and the Original State Street Manhattan for a cocktail. For the main course, the Dry-Aged Ribeye pairs beautifully with an American red wine, accompanied by sides of Truffle Cream Corn and Smoked Gouda Au Gratin Potatoes. Since the steak cools down quickly, it’s best enjoyed right away. For a great non-steak option, the Miso Marinated Seabass and Chicken Christopher are excellent choices. Finish on a sweet note with the Key Lime Pie. Budget around Php 5,000 per head, and dining with a group is ideal to sample a variety of dishes.

Congratulations to The Bistro Group for successfully opening Morton’s The Steakhouse and living up to its hype.
