🎆 Marina del Rey – Burton Chace Park Fireworks
Waterfront fireworks with a side of wine and serenity.
- Fireworks start at 9 p.m., synced to music
- Best spots: Burton Chace Park & Fisherman’s Village
- Fun add-on: $1 Summer WaterBus runs 11 a.m.–11 p.m.
Kim’s tip: I packed a picnic and a bottle of wine and found a cozy spot early at Burton Chace Park. The vibe was so chill and local—it felt like a neighborhood block party on the water.
🏝 Catalina Island
Island vibes meet patriotic flair.

Kim’s note: If you’ve never taken the ferry to Catalina, July 4th is the perfect excuse. The parades are quirky in the best way, and watching fireworks from the beach—or a rooftop bar—is just dreamy.

Sustainability meets spectacle. Drones synchronized to music are taking over the fireworks shows.

Kim’s memory: I just spent a weekend here with my mom and fell in love with the scenic vineyards and super cute downtown. Pair the festivities with a winery visit and make a weekend out of it.
🌊 Newport Dunes – Newport Beach
OC’s biggest fireworks show.

Kim’s rec: If you want fireworks without the chaos, Santa Barbara’s your spot. It feels festive without being overwhelming—and the post-party beach cleanup is a nice community touch.
🚲 Huntington Beach
Bike parade + beach fireworks = classic California.
- Decorate your bike and join the Bicycle Cruise, led by veterans
- Fireworks at 9 p.m., viewable from beach or downtown

Kim’s vibe: It’s hard to beat biking along the coast, feeling the sea breeze, then ending the day with fireworks over the water.
